In line with renewable energy certificate market practice, projects issuing renewable energy labels are not required to demonstrate Ongoing Financial Need, or ‘additionality’. However, if a project wishes to also be able to issue Gold Standard verified emission reductions (VERs), it will need to demonstrate Ongoing Financial Need and additionality, as per the Product Requirements for issuance of Gold Standard VERs.
